NW Recruitment Services Ltd are working exclusively with My Life – My Choice to recruit enthusiastic and nurturing Support Workers to join their growing team to care for children and young adults with complex needs.
About My-Life-My-Choice-Ltd
My Life – My Choice was established in 2002 when they opened ‘Lora House’ a small respite centre for adults with disabilities. They have grown over the years to an 8-bed respite centre in Oswaldtwistle for children and young people.Today, My Life – My Choice provides a wide range of services to children and young adults with disabilities and/or Autism. Providing services to children aged 0-17 years and can continue to provide support in the transition period of their adult lives. The company provides a flexible and responsive service to meet children's and young people's needs 7 days per week/52 weeks per year.
Now, My Life – My Choice have opened a brand new, exciting refurbishment of a children's home which is set in its own grounds with further development plans. This offers great opportunities for progression for the right candidate.
Role and Responsibilities
- To understand, follow and review the care plans for each client in your care.
- To understand and follow all Policies and Procedures of My Life – My Choice.
- To support all clients on a daily basis, this will include keeping them safe, encouraging and supporting them to be healthy, to support and help them to enjoy life and achieve their goals and support them in making the right decisions to make a positive contribution within their lives and their relationships.
- This position may include lone working and supporting clients in their own home environment and/or out and about in the community.
- Supporting clients may include administering medication, tube feeding, attending to personal care, liaising with families and other professional bodies.
- To maintain growth within the company and different client groups, various training requirements must be fulfilled.
- To actively promote and support other members of staff in a team working environment.
- To ensure that the confidentiality policy is maintained at all times.
- Administration duties are also part of a Support Worker’s role, these may include; keeping care plans up to date and in order, daily reports and risk assessments.
Essential Criteria:
- Aged over 21 years.
- Available alternate weekends
- Available for shift work which includes early starts 7am, late finishes 10pm, sleep-ins and wake and watch’s.
Desirable Criteria
- Qualified in Level 3 Health and Social Care or Child Care.
- Full Driving Licence.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience with challenging behaviour and/or Support Work.
